PJ Washington Re-Signs with Charlotte Hornets
3-Year, $46.5 Million Contract
Restricted Free Agent Stays in Queen City
Restricted free agent forward PJ Washington has re-signed with the Charlotte Hornets on a three-year, $46.5 million contract, as reported by Lift Sports. The deal includes $46.5 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $15.5 million.
Washington, a 6'7", 230-pound forward, was drafted 12th overall by the Hornets in 2019. He has since become a key contributor, averaging 12.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in his career.
In his third season with Charlotte, Washington showed significant improvement, averaging 14.4 points and 6.6 rebounds. He also shot 40.5% from three-point range, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the court.
The Hornets were eager to retain Washington, especially after losing Miles Bridges to the Brooklyn Nets in free agency. Washington's return gives the Hornets a much-needed boost in their frontcourt and provides them with a promising young player to build around.
