WEB Llama 2 Release Scheduled for July 18, 2023
Agreement Outlines Terms of Use
Meta has announced the release date for WEB Llama 2, a new version of its large language model, for July 18, 2023. The release will be accompanied by an agreement outlining the terms and conditions for use, reproduction, and distribution.
Model Details
WEB Llama 2 has been pretrained on a massive dataset of publicly available online sources. It incorporates various foundational large language models, software, algorithms, and machine-learning model code. Unlike Llama 1, which was open-source, Llama 2 will be licensed under MeTa LLaMa 2.
OSI Acknowledges Lowered Access Barriers
The Open Source Initiative (OSI) has welcomed Meta's decision to release Llama 2 under a non-open-source license. OSI believes that this move will lower barriers to access and foster innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.
